Well another awesome trip! I have been fortunate to experience Reel Obsession 4 times now... 2011, 2013, 2015 and 2017. My husband Lance has been here 5 times! With each new year this place grows and blossoms -- inching to perfection. Adrian is not only the best guide and fisherman -- but also a very conscience business man who's at the top of his game. We will be back!! From the warm, cozy, beautiful atmosphere -- to the amazing fishing -- it's been wonderful! Thanks!

This has been my first time on a fishing charter-lodge experience so all I have to say is hands down what an overall exhilarating and epic experience. I can truly see why fishing can be an addiction. The rollercoaster emotions that run in my head let alone my adrenaline flying through the roof wheeling the fish in was more then what money can buy. What an EPIC feeling. My whole trip was freak'n worth traveling especially since I live on Vancouver Island. How can I forget the fireworks on Canada day too. Wow never saw that coming. The staff and all the guests made it feel so quaint as if we were all old friends. Easy to get to know everyone and just enjoying every minute of the 4 days while there.
The accommodation and staff: The rooms were bright and clean. The meals were more then what we can eat plus they were all delicious. The scenery is just phenomenal. The lodge over looks the ocean. Please check out the pictures that should give you an idea. The staff were more then helpful. Very professional and they go out of their way to make your experience worth while. The fishing guides...WOW super friendly and professional. I can't say more...its worth just to go check it out yourself.

A huge thank you to you and your staff for the great experience. We all came with high hopes for great fishing and we were not disappointed. The lodge delivered on the total package from the quality of the meals, lunches on the boat, to the cleanliness of the lodge and how organized it was.
Our guides were Troy and Talon. We caught so much fish the first day we couldn't close the lid on the holding tank in the boat. This might have been due to the 40lb spring and the 66 lb halibut that were in there! That's correct - 40lb spring!! Two of the guys had never fished the ocean before and after this day of fishing said if they never caught another fish in their lives they were okay with that. Adrian you got them both "hooked". One of our guys had fished the area for 20 years and now wants to move his annual trip to Reel Obsession.
The support staff after each day of fishing then portioned, vacuum packed, and froze the fillets. The lodge provided travel coolers for the trip home and packed it all up for us.
The food was prepared by a professional chef who was clearly passionate about his work. if you are a foody you won't be disappointed. The whole experience was over and above our expectations.
If you are looking for a quality fishing experience then don't hesitate booking in Zeballos with the crew at Reel Obsession. Bring your clothes, a good attitude, (a little help from the weather man) and get ready for one of the most memorable experiences of your life.

My son and I just returned after a 3 day trip at Reel Obsession. It was my son Ryan's first salmon fishing trip. I can tell you that once you fish here you will never go elsewhere. As a smaller outfit, Adrian, the owner is able to pay attention to every detail. I don't how he does it as he guides as well! The rooms and Lodge are extremely clean and well maintained. The boats and fishing gear are very mechanically sound and up to date. All of the lodge team is very friendly and helpful, - they seem to have a high level of job satisfaction. I love good food and Chef Jason delivered. I never expected such excellent quality of food at a fishing lodge; it was never a disappointment leaving the water at the end of the day as there was always a 3 course gourmet meal to look forward to.
Oh yeah the fishing...excellent. I have fished this area twice now (last year with another lodge) and I can tell you fishing for salmon and halibut is second to none. Our trip was 3 days long and my son's first halibut was 70lbs. - Just small enough to be legal - we added two more in the 50lb. range over the trip. Salmon were a little slow first 2 days for some unknown reason and no boats were doing very well, we only caught one Chinook that was 23lbs....then on the third day the salmon turned on and everyone was limiting out on Chinook's with some Coho as well; we kept 4 Chinook, 3 of which were 20lb. plus and one large 13lb. Coho - lots of hits and lost fish as well. Also brought home some rock fish and ling cod. I would highly recommend a 3 day trip to any salmon fishing location as weather, ocean conditions and salmon can be unpredictable.
Most important of all, I can say our guide, Tallon, was amazing. He put us on the fish every day and adapted to weather, ocean and fishing conditions as they changed. He was friendly, good with people, and best of all had a great sense of humor. The three of us had a lot of good laughs, we felt very comfortable being in the boat with him. I had the opportunity of meeting all the other guides as well; they are all very friendly and experienced.
Thank you Reel Obsession, see you again soon.

I have fished on Vancouver Island for years. Reel Obsession Lodge provided the best trip that I have ever experienced. Larger well equipped boats, highly experienced professional guides, combined with unparalleled customer service are all part of the deal. Our guide Troy combined experience, knowledge, and constant attention to detail, adding to the fun that we had catching salmon, halibut, and bottom fish.
Owner Adrian O'Connor and his crew all understand the meaning of customer service. Adrian's wife arrived Friday in a dress, and immediately started packing fish. It's the real deal. Come here and you will not be disappointed!

We did our research to find a location on the West Coast of Vancouver Island and we found a gem! Adrian and all his staff went above and beyond to meet our expectations! All meals were 5 star quality as were the accommodations. We went home with our fish well taken care of. The remoteness, scenery and wildlife provided the "icing on the cake." Look forward to returning in the future.

Three days of great fishing is just the beginning. This was my second trip with Adrian and crew. We had a group of 8 guys and all went home with a complete sense of AWESOME written all over their faces. The boat captains were great and easy to get along with. The crew at the lodge did their jobs with a smile and all reasonable requests were handled without fail. The lodge itself is very well done. Nothing fancy, but enough to make you want to come back. This was a very relaxing and enjoyable vacation for all.
